ADAMA 2024 Impact Report

OVERVIEW
In 2024, ADAMA proudly celebrates six years of championing African diasporic art, culture, and storytelling. Over the past year, we have expanded our reach through new exhibitions, immersive experiences, and signature events, significantly increasing attendance and elevating the visibility of the artists and communities we serve.
Our educational initiatives continued to provide opportunities for learners of all ages to deepen their understanding of Black art, history, and culture, fostering greater cultural awareness and appreciation. By maintaining our commitment to inclusivity and the breadth of the African diaspora, ADAMA remains a vital resource—enriching lives, inspiring creativity, and cultivating a cultural ecosystem that affirms Black humanity and shapes Atlanta’s global cultural identity.
As we look to the future, we envision ADAMA as a dynamic cultural campus that continues to evolve and innovate. With our presence along the BeltLine, we aim to create a vibrant hub for artistic exchange, fostering deeper connections between local neighborhoods, global networks, and the African Diaspora. Our plans include expanding exhibitions, enhancing our educational programs, and cultivating a diverse range of cultural experiences that highlight emerging voices.
We aspire to be a catalyst for creative entrepreneurship and a welcoming space where visitors can immerse themselves in Black art, culture, and storytelling. As we move forward, we remain committed to driving Atlanta’s transformation into a global cultural and creative epicenter, making ADAMA an essential destination for all who seek inspiration, understanding, and upliftment.

EVERY WHERE we GO, THERE we ARE.
Since establishing our first physical location at the NIA Building in Pittsburgh Yards, ADAMA continues to create dynamic, immersive experiences celebrating the African Diaspora.
In 2024, we welcomed an average of 500–800 visitors per month, each encountering exhibitions, performances, conversations, and educational programs that broaden understanding of the global Black experience. Our work provides a critical intervention in the display, promotion, and development of African-descended artists, ensuring that Black art and culture remain at the forefront of Atlanta’s cultural evolution.
2024 EXPERIENCES
2024 EXPERIENCES
In many African traditions, the audience is an integral part of the production. We talk at our movies. We sing and dance at our concerts. This “call and response” engages and affirms. Rather than providing “programs” we create experiences that are dynamic, sensory-rich, and immersive.
This year over 3000+ people attended our experiences and were part of making each interaction a historic moment!
ADAMA ARTS SALONS
ADAMA Arts Salon is a series of conversations featuring contemporary artists, curators, scholars, and more from across the African Diaspora.
HIGHLIGHTS
This season all ADAMA Arts Salons were hosted in-person at Pittsburgh Yards.
